Last lake days

As you already know I am back home in my little forest sanctuary in Skåne but a part of me is missing Mama lake and its magical energies and I am feeling a bit nostalgic over these past few months with sooo much happening in my life.

For some reason the last months have not been well captured in pictures but I have a few from my last days at the magical Lake Atitlan where I highly recommend you to visit if you like me love Cacao, Singing, Chanting, sitting in ceremonies, being in nature and surrounded by some really epic human beings.

Last lake days

My favorite way to start my mornings was to drink cacao and sing to the lake

Last lake days

Some mornings we gathered together for a sunrise fire ceremony where we all gave offerings to the fire, shared songs, prayers and this I would really love more of in my life so maybe ill head down to the Ivö lake and see if any neighbours will join me..

Last lake days

My dear sister Liddy living her best life in our garden.

Last lake days

We just got to know each other this winter but it was an instant soul connection

Last lake days

And did we love our luxe Lush brunches.

San Marcos can be a bit rustic so this was always a breath of fresh air.

Their version of a has brown with vegan cheese sauce and kale was amazing and so was the plato tipico which is a traditional breakfast plate in Guatemala with platanos, guacamole and beans- so simple and so delicious

Last lake days

Amazing menu that I worked my way through a few times

Last lake days

I of course went to a few cacao ceremonies on my last week. This one was with the group I had just ended my 3 week sound training with.

Last lake days

And then I took a last visit to our land where the temple is being built..rock by rock. Patience is key building on a mountain in a remote village with no roads but they say in a few months there shall be a temple so I choose to believe that.

Last lake days

My dear friend Azzurro who is the brain behind our magical residential retreat space turned 40 and was celebrating for weeks which I missed as I was in my training but I did get a chance to celebrate at the afterparty

Last lake days

Cute doggies wherever I go..

Last lake days
Last lake days

Last selfie in my house in the dress I spent the last months in. Believe it or not but its from & other stories but way back and its almost been thrown away several times but this winter it had its revival. More dresses like this please to all my fashion designer friends reading this.

Last lake days

I am definitely still a beginner but I feel so proud that I can play the guitar now after bleeding fingers and endless of hours wanting to give up. This really goes to show you can learn ANYTHING if you put your mind to it!

Traveling to mexico and central amerika with a dog

How do I do it? I got that question so many times during my stay in Guatemala and to be honest, it was a bit of a nightmare BUT as I love to say- ANYTHING is possible if you really put your mind to it. I can also be really stubborn and have a tendency to never give up if I really want something which comes in handy in situations like these.

Where do I start..(firstly I want to mention that this is probably only interesting to read if you are planning on travelling with your pet or if you really love me and Elda and want to read our story)

You need a EU passport where all the vaccines, most important being the Rabies one. You also need deworming treatment and some treatment for ectoparasites and it all needs to go in the passport.

It was pretty difficult to find information about Guatemala specifically, doesn’t seem like a lot of people bring their dogs there from Sweden. LOL. So I emailed the embassy about 100 times with different questions and I really did my best to follow the very vague directions. My first mistake was that I missed to take a titer test which is a antibody test for Rabies. The embassy guy said it wasn’t necessary to fly to Guatemala, which was true. BUT what I found out a day before departure was that you need it to fly back into Sweden..completely missed out on that. You can actually do it in the country you are going to IF they have a EU approved lab which most countries have except Guatemala..So I had to rebook my first flight which ment I had to fly in high season so rebooking was basically like buying a new ticket. Deep breath.

My ticket was with KLM, and I booked specifically on their website and not through a travel site to be able to get some sort of customer service. You can’t unfortunately fly all the way from Sweden to Guatemala with KLM so you get as far as Panama and then you switch to a local airline. I paid for my dog and got her approved in a confirmation email that looked like she was approved all the way and 10 days after our first planned departure we are ready to go again. I also want to mention that I am not a light traveller..never have been and most likely will not be in this lifetime..clothes, instruments, altar pieces, books, journal, dog things, herbal apothecary..you name it, this virgo has got it.

Anyways, we get to the airport on a snowy November day, check in, I don’t get charged for my excess luggage, Elda is on her best behaviour, check in lady loves her. ALL IS WELL. We go sit down by the gate, I text my best friends that we are taking off. I go to the bathroom to try and get Elda to pee on a pee pad which of course she doesn’t do as I have no idea how to train her to pee on command so we just end up staring at each other and me desperately begging her to go pee peeeeee. I can laugh about it all now but it wasn’t fun then.

We don’t do this game for too long as I hear in the speaker…Nina Wiger to the gate please..I panic..I thought it was an hour before departure..am I going to miss my flight? I run to the gate, criss crossing through a crowded terminal with bags, hats, drum and dog..I am of course also dresses in all my heavy clothes so I was already sweaty before I started running..

I come to the gate and they say I cant board this flight. Elda is not approved on the second flight from Paris to Mexico City (as I rebooked the ticket they changed the route and therefor also the airline collaboration)..Apparantely Air Mexico does not approve dogs on flights longer than 6 hours and KLM is saying that the approval and payment I did was only on their end..not the Air Mexico end. This is so confusing right, as I booked a ticket all the way to Guatemala through a KLM website..

I am so grateful for my breathwork practice cause instead of having a panic attack I ask to sit down and I take a few deep breaths before I make up my mind..what I was navigating was if I should gamble and take the first flight to Paris and then sneak her on the second flight..I mean I was acting in fight or flight mode here so not the wisest idea with some after thought..I realise I am not 20 anymore doing these crazy things and also what a nightmare to get stuck in Paris airport with all bags and a dog in the middle of the winter..no thanks.

They cant help me to rebook at the airport so they just give me a number to call and after being connected, disconnected back and forth I basically get the answer that I won’t be able to bring Elda all the way to Guatemala as no airline will take responsibility for a dog when a journey is with several airlines- and like I said, no airline flies all the way to Guatemala so I panic..I have just invested in this piece of land there, I obviously have a dog which is like my baby and I cant just leave her in Sweden. Ah dear god why do I keep taking these crazy decisions all the time is the thoughts that are running through my head as I sit on an airport bench crying waiting for my best friend to pick me up. She is on a dinner but could come after a couple of hours so I think I am sitting on that bench for at least 5 hours, crying and trying to come up with a solution. I am to heartbroken to take any other decision at this stage. Also to mention a bunch of childhood trauma gets triggered here as my dad who I was staying with in Stockholm basically told me I am so irresponsible for me basically missing two flights and I cant stay at his house anymore so I have to drive down again to my house in Skåne while I wait for my third flight 10 days later. It all ended up being very healing as all the shit came to the surface from both of our sides and we healed a lot. So maybe this is why I missed that flight? Anyway, driving 7 hours south crying in the car feeling worthless and not welcome was not my brightest time of the year and I didn’t really want anyone to know how messed up this all was so I was just hiding in the woods for a week and didn’t let many people know I was still in Sweden. I just couldn’t deal..I turned the pain into purpose though and played a lot of guitar, sang, took long forest walks and read books in front of the fire.

When I realized I can fly as far as I can come with KLM- which is like Mexico or Panama. Then take my bags, stay in the country and then fly a local airline a few days after life got brighter again. And that is the story of how I ended up in Mexico City before my arrival to Guatemala and why I am also here now.

Long story but its not over yet..

All the paperworks I had in Sweden are not valid from Mexico to Guatemala so in Mexico I had to re-do the process of seeing a vet to get another health certificate in Spanish. Also you have to go to the airport the day before the flight, bring your dog, health certificate and all papers and go to a SENSAICA office there where they give you a export certificate. All papers are in Spanish and they dont speak English so I have no idea how people do it. I was so blessed to have my ex living in Mexico City and he was an angel and helped me out and barely he understood how to fill in the papers so not an easy task. They really dont make it easy for you that is for sure.

Crazy story is that I was also debating if I should fly to Mexico City or Cancun..was thinking Cancun and take Elda to Tulum for some beach days and then my ex that I havent spoken to since we broke up writes to me, literally the same hour I am booking my trip so I figured it all happened for a reason. And it was so nice to spend some time together and catch up. Life is a wild ride..

Ok so now I have all my paperworks and the day after we take off to Guatemala which was super smooth.

In Lake Atitlan where I have been living there is a lot of street dogs. Bless their heart I want to adopt most of them but some are super aggressive from living hard street life. This makes having a tiny dog a very easy target so both of our nervous systems were on fight or flight every time we left the house which made me not want to go for long hikes by myself or take her to town so it was a bit isolating before we found or flow. Sometimes I carried her in the piece of fabric the local woman carry their babies in and sometimes I walked with a stick which is a pretty good protection and most dogs won’t come close if they see you walking with one.

Ok, fast forward almost 5 months and we are on our way back home.

In Guatemala you need a vet to send in the health certificate and 300 usd to the government to get your export licence..so pretty easy but not cheap.

It was smooth on the airport as well as the entry to Mexico- except that the Mexican border took the health certificate and told me it was only valid to Mexico and not further. So now I have to go to another vet here in Mexico and do it allover again to be able to export her out of the country..

For anyone still reading- Yes, we will do this trip again and yes it is so worth having your dog with you and Yes, it is a mission, its expensive and super stressful being on an airplane with a dog but I wouldn’t do it any other way (unless someone can tell me a more smooth way haha)

Also it hasn’t been a great experience travelling on the actual airplane as Elda is so sensitive to any medications so I tried both homeopathic calming medicine as well as CBD but none of them worked so maybe I do have to try something stronger on this coming flight. Pray for us.

Ceremoniell Kakao (Ceremonial Cacao): Explained

Ceremoniell Kakao (Ceremonial Cacao): Explained

Ceremoniell Kakao (Ceremonial Cacao): Explained

Ceremoniell Kakao (Ceremonial Cacao): Explained

Ceremoniell Kakao (Ceremonial Cacao): Explained

Antigua travel guide

Hej babes,

I am back..It was a wild winter and blogging kind of fell behind the chairs but I am so ready to start sharing here again.

I wanted to write about this cute little town Antigua which I just LOVE LOVE LOVE. I always stop there for a few days before and after I head to Lake Atitlan (only an hour away from the airport) and I can highly recommend this cobblestoned town with great shopping, restaurants and markets. The colors of the buildings makes me so happy and I just love to stroll around all days. The town feels safe and is really well organised so I would say its a great town for a solo female traveller as well.

I always visit Amaya salon and this time they had a new treatment- Sculpting Reiki Facial which was just SO nourishing and amazing, and look at this glow.

Gua Sha, Reiki, Massage and only natural products- OBSESSED!

Antigua travel guide

Another top tip is to visit Luna Zorro which is a cute boutique a bit outside of town and its run by Molly Berry who came here with her family a few years back. She has the most amazing textiles but also some clothes, ceramics and my favorite natural dye scrunchies. I also took a natural dye workshop here a few years back, I think I wrote about it before- anyway check her out.

Antigua travel guide

Then I must visit is the local handcraft market where I get all my blankets for my retreat. It was really difficult to find good ones this year- wool prices have gone up like crazy AND so sad to hear but most of the workers are leaving the country hoping for a better future in the US so we might not see so many more of these handmade magical crafts anymore. Breaks my heart.

Ah this is the least fun part of shopping textiles..trying to get it all home..This time around I was using DHL and when I came with all my goods they told me they didn’t have big boxes so I ran around town trying to find some with 2 hours before they closed and I was leaving the morning after, such a stress..And was impossible to find so I convinced here to connect a bunch of small boxes together and with some manipulation and a big smile it worked. All these magical beings on their way home to the forest.

Antigua travel guide

Also obsessed with these, bought a few extra so let me know if you are interested.

555 sek for handmade pieces of art.

Antigua travel guide

Oh a visit to this magical crystal man. A got a whole lecture about all their benefits (in Spanish and I kind of understood most of it. YAY big win) and my suitcase is full of jade, black obsidian and some other magical stones- will write an entire post about that I think.

Antigua travel guide

Ah the architecture here..

Antigua travel guide

After living my best hippie life ever this winter this was such a treat..Clean feet. Zoe nail spa..she is amazing and great price.

Antigua travel guide

Ah the shopping here..textile, leather goods, crystals, hats..Nina Medicina heaven

Antigua travel guide

And some artisan foods as well. Like this honey

As for food I love the Ramen and dumplings at Kombu Ramen shop.

I also had lunch at Nuna which was great and they also have a vintage store..not my style of clothes but still a fun concept. And the only place in Guatemala with amazing sourdough bread I’ve come across so far so that was a treat.

I had an air bnb with a kitchen and I just love to cook my own food so I head to the local fruits market and maximise my time with amazing exotic fruit and veggies.

I have so many more tips but this is it for now- If you are planning to visit Guatemala this is a must.

Forest spirit healing retreat, may, skåne

It’s time again for our Forest spirit Healing retreat with me and Floramor.

(link to read more and book)

We will meet one of the first weekends when I am back from Guatemala in my healing oasis The Wild Meadow outside Näsum in Northern Skåne for a weekend retreat with healing plants and medicine music.

It will be a weekend with a unique blend of healing modalities, designed to offer release, regeneration and awaken our organic resonance.

Through ceremonies, breathwork, cacao, sound work, forest walks, deep listening, journaling, delicious vegan meals and elixirs, herbal sauna & lake plunges, laughter, dancing, singing and a lot of connection we will let go of our daily programming and take the opportunity to heal in nature together with other likehearted beings.

We will eat healthy and nourishing vegan dishes using highly nutrient superfoods and only high vibe ingredients. We will drink epic herbal elixirs, smoothies and of course expect a lot of ceremonial cacao from from Guatemala

Some highlights: – Cacao and forest spirit healing Ceremony with Medicine Music – Breathwork and Dance Celebration  – Forest Meditations & Lake Plunges  – Voice and Body Workshop – Medicine Chants & Mantras – Shamanic Bhakti Satsang

This is what Dita who participated in the last retreat have to say:

‘The magical forest retreat with Nina and Flormusic was an amazing possibility to feel unity with nature, to connect with my own body on a much deeper level and to have journey into my self. Nature is a great teacher and Nina with Flor created intimate and very safe space for all process we went through during that magical weekend. All of these at beautiful settings of Skåne (with forest and the lake just for us) and with nourishing and super tasty food. I will be back:) I am in love with Nina’s place, her cacao, her dog Elda and in Flor’s singing. Thank you both for that transformative time ✨’

Sample schedule (Just a rough idea, we will flow with the weather and the wind)

07.00 Rising up in silence

07.30 Herbal elixir and a gratitude journaling practice

08.00-08.30 Silent meditation walk in nature and morning swim

09.30 Amazingly nourishing and healthy breakfast

10- 11.00 Free time

11.00- 13.00 Soundlodge- with release, ritual, intention, chants and organic group voice experience.

14:00 Lunch and relaxation

16:00-late, Cacao and Forest Spirit Ceremony with Medicine Music and Dance Celebration

Sacred music is present all through the retreat to to heal our system and connect our souls back to the source of wisdom. Our Forest Spirit Ceremony offers you a safe space to journey, deep into the wonder of our fully expanded- and-connected organic self, healing the wounds and transforming the old, unnecessary patterns.

It is also a deeply transformational journey, you are welcome to gather your innermost intentions and start weaving your dreams. Simultaneously, we are using one of the greatest Medicines of our time: the Medicine of Music within the ritual.

You already know me but here is Floramors bio:

Floramor is a devoted singer of medicine music in different forms. Honoring the spirit of the traditions she is inspired by, she chooses to grow her own garden.

Floramor could always sing. And saw herself performing on stage. Nevertheless it took her 20 years of transformational personal work (including 6 years as an ashramite, devoted entirely to a monastic path of yoga), before she was ready to call herself a “singer” and a “musician”. Her career took off with the success of a unique band Mantra Tribe, that has been performing at major spiritual festivals in Europe since 2016 and created its own genre, a tribal ecstatic mantra music. Here, Floramor lives her incarnation as a “rock star”, channeling the crazy, transformative energy of Goddess Kali on stage and in her compositions, that she creates with the band. www.mantra-tribe.de

Since 2017 she has been on a synergistic path merging creatively the elements of her tantric and yogic experience with the plant medicine work, learning from different shamanic traditions of Central and South- America and channeling music. Floramor sees and honors the One Spirit behind all different traditions, serving the unfolding of the new consciousness on the planet.

‘Together the songs are weaving a vision of harmony and I am deeply grateful to offer them a space, where they can display their delightful beauty’.

Ceremoniell kakao kurs

NEW DATES FOR CACAO TRAININGS CAN BE FOUND HERE

Last week I was invited out on a organic Cacao farm a few hours from the lake and we had such a beautiful ceremony honouring this medicine and the trees from which she comes from. We made offerings, drank cacao out of the pod, sang, danced, had a sacred tobacco ceremony and learned more about Cacao so now I feel even more inspired to embark on my second edition of the Ceremonial Cacao intro and exploration course and there is still a few spots left. We start February 15th

This year it feels extra special as I am in the heart of where the magical Cacao comes from so it will be super charged- AND I will be able to host a guest teacher, Walter who is a Mayan Spiritual Guide who will offer individual readings as well as share his knowledge about this sacred plant medicine.

As Cacao is becoming more and more known and I also hear about a lot of new Cacao Ceremonies popping up I want to offer this training for anyone who wishes to share Cacao, honouring its history and traditions- so you can share Cacao, knowing where it is coming from, who has produced it, how it is made, what the difference is from ceremonial cacao and cacao powder or chocolate etc.

We will work through all the elements and talk about how to set up a ceremony and create your own rituals and so much more.

Here is some more info if you are interested and feel free to spread the word.

This deep dive into the world of Mama Cacao is for you if you want to:

  • Dive deeper into your relationship with Ceremonial Cacao
  • Learn more about how to incorporate Ceremonial Cacao into your everyday life
  • Learn how to make your own cup of Cacao for yourself and/ or to share in a larger group
  • You want to learn how to honour this sacred plant medicine and share her magic in a sacred and ceremonial way
  • Explore your own unique way to work and connect with Cacao
  • Get inspired on how to create your own rituals and ceremonies and create a safe and sacred space
  • Learn more about what ingredients/ herbs/ adaptogens work best with cacao and learn how to communicate with the different plant spirits
  • Tune into your hearts desires so you can follow its direction and learn not to listen to your overthinking monkey mind
  • Learn how to communicate around Cacao and how we can protect this sacred medicine

What You Will Learn / Topics we will touch on/ Practices we will do:

– The history of Cacao

– Where and who it comes from

– How it is grown and prepared

– How to honor this sacred plant medicine

– The whole process from bean to a cup of cacao

– The difference between ceremonial cacao and other cacao/ chocolate/ cocoa

– Her spiritual and medicinal uses

– Her health benefits

– Risks and contraindications

– Cultural appropriation and appreciation

– What is a cacao ceremony

– How to set up sacred space

– How to work with the elements and the chakras

– Cleansing of the space before a ceremony

– Intention setting

– How to prepare a cup of ceremonial cacao for personal use, a small group, or a big group.

– A daily dose vs a Ceremonial dose

– What ingredients works together with cacao

– Different Cacao receipes

– Incorporating rituals in a busy lifestyle

– Cacao as an aphrodisiac

– Inspiration and discussion on ways to create your own practice.

– Meditations to communicate with the cacao

– Examples of songs and sounds to use in ceremony

– Practices to deepen your self love and self care

– My personal journey with cacao and how it has helped me heal

There are many ways to work with Cacao and we will explore a few of them. We will build intimacy with this sacred plant spirit and we will have a lot of sharings and discussions, we will meditate, dance, sing, journal and we will meet one day for an optional cacao ceremony with breathwork and sacred sounds.

After this training you will feel confident in how to integrate cacao into your daily life and even to share her in your own community in a respectful way honoring this sacred plant medicine.

Read more and book on my website and use the code TWWP for 10% off this training.

It will be held in English as we have some non swedish speakers in the course.

Lake atitlan life

I can not believe I have been here for 2 months already..It is truly crazy how fast time flies when you are living your dream life.

Like I wrote before the end of last year was really not an easy one and the journey to get here a story of its own but once we settled in here at the lake its like all my worries washed away and I am just so grateful for all the magical people I get to spend time with, all the ceremonies I get to sit in, all the dreams I get to fulfill, all the cacao I get to drink and connect with and the sunsets, the sunrises, the kirtans, all the exotic fruits and the beauty of it all.

Until I find some peace to write more, here is just some random pictures from my phone from the last 2 months since I got here.

My purpose as you know of coming here was to get started hosting people on our land but it is quite some time away and I dont have too much to show you YET but we just got a new building crew that are on it so hopefully in a few weeks I can tell you and show you more.

Lake Atitlan Life

This is where I have been staying since I got here, a pure piece of heaven even though I am in the house in the back, Casa Verde and NOT in that pink house that is just standing there empty teasing me to move in..(under renovation..)

Lake Atitlan Life

And this is where I try and spend some time everyday singing to the lake.

Lake Atitlan Life

So where I am staying used to be a hotel of some sort but now the sweet owner retired and she is only here in the weekends so it’s pretty much just me over here. Love the sun loungers even though I think I spent less than 20 minutes on them in total since I got here.

Lake Atitlan Life

Such a lush garden!

Lake Atitlan Life

Precious moments

Lake Atitlan Life

My dear friend Luna came to the lake and we didn’t get to spend enough time together but this was a magical afternoon drinking cacao and singing on her dock.

Lake Atitlan Life

So much love for this little nugget and NO it is not easy to travel with your dog but easier than leaving them behind for this long..

Lake Atitlan Life

Window with a view

Lake Atitlan Life

Fell in love with her little casita- look at the door

Lake Atitlan Life

And such a cute dock, perfect for an afternoon cacao ceremony

Lake Atitlan Life

Elda putting on her best behaviour and charming all the ladies in town

Lake Atitlan Life

Wild Cacao photoshoot with our dear friend and super talented photographer Diana.

Lake Atitlan Life

No house here at the lake without a Temazcal..Definately having one on our land as well.

Lake Atitlan Life

Love these afternoons practicing guitar and I am slowly slowly making some progress..

Lake Atitlan Life

Visiting our land for the first time, sooo exciting and way over expectation. The energy up here is just something else..

Lake Atitlan Life

Isabel had a birthday ceremony and we were such a beautiful group of people singing, drinking cacao, temazcaling and some cold plunge and then a huge feast. Perfect day

Lake Atitlan Life
Lake Atitlan Life

The day after was New Years and I was a bit worried how much fireworks it would be and how Elda would react to it so we stayed home and had a ceremony in my garden and it was just perfect. Also turns out Elda is either half deaf or just very laidback in terms of fireworks, she didn’t even react so that is good to know.

Lake Atitlan Life
Lake Atitlan Life
Lake Atitlan Life
Lake Atitlan Life

We weren’t allowed to make a fire on the land so some candles had to do..work with what you got.

Perfect and super spontaneous New Years gathering, just perfect

Lake Atitlan Life
Lake Atitlan Life

Fresh Chamomille is one of my favorite smells, so seductive and calming and heart opening

Lake Atitlan Life

Then it was my new friend Leahs birthday that was celebrated with a brunch on a really cute spot in town- Lush

Lake Atitlan Life

Amazing breakfast..

Lake Atitlan Life

AND the rose milk was just SO delicious

Lake Atitlan Life

This is Lisa, I met her on my weekly breathwork class and instantly felt a connection. This town really attracts some magical beings.

Lake Atitlan Life

Life is really just as beautiful as you make it and I love these daily rituals of connecting with the elements of the earth.

Lake Atitlan Life

This is Britta, another magical Cacao godess. We got introduced last year virtually so it was really lovely to meet in person and share our favorite heart medicine.

Lake Atitlan Life

Felicia is a swedish singer and songwriter I just met here and she held a wonderful and intimate concert in town- highly recommend her music

Another day another ceremony
