Hey loves. I’ve pinned down my skin care routine with the face products I use for glow.
I still dream about being this girl I was when I was 22, who only did the mornings with an organic face mist and then ready to go, but that’s not enough these days to be honest. I’m a mother of two, sleep is not something I indulge in and also, I´m living in a cold and wintery country! So! I have looked for products that makes my skin get a healthy glow, fast! These products below does it. (What’s not included in the collage is my organic sunscreen products that I love SO much; Rudolp Care from Denmark. Also another natural danish brand: Karmamjeu and their 3-1 star micellar water. This stuff I will never stop using unless they stop making the,
So, these products below are my glow go too. And a very important note: I´m not whatsoever sponsored by any of these brands, (I wish), so this is my highly personal choices since I was a teenage warrior. Hit me with your questions if you got any. <3 Also, if you have any super skin secretes for glow, please kiss and tell!
For glow on the inside, (which is even more important), look for the next post. Love on you all!
went through my phone to organize it and found an album of our last apartment in NYC, (we moved three times in four years).
I have to post the pictures here because it was the most dreamy place. We painted it and did so much stuff because we thought we were going to stay there for quite some time of our lives, and then we ended up not even living there for a full year. Life never happens the way you plan it, that’s something I know by now.
A tiny ache of pain in my heart when I look at the pictures, but I try to remember in true yogic manner that everything happens for a reason and that we all plant out in the universe what we wanted unconsciously. Feelings are not just feeling that comes and go, we need to listen to them because they most always have a message to us that we shouldn’t ignore. I will forever and ever cherish that time of my life when we lived in this apartment and in NYC.
Also, someone told me that being sentimental is equal being weak, do you agree? I don’t think I’m very sentimental but I’m not afraid of looking back and feel sad or super happy depending on the memory. What I feel its the most important thing here is that I learn from my experiences constantly so I don’t repeat mistakes or actually fill m y life with more of the things that gives me joy! Do you agree on this too?
These 2 books changed everything for me. Believe me cuz I´m an avid reader and an obsessed researcher about everything. These books are wellness guides with ancient wisdom, they ground you and help you help yourself being your strongest you without pressure.
The First Forty Days by Heng Ou & Yoga Mama, Yoga Baby: Ayurveda and Yoga for a healthy pregnancy and birthby Margo Shapiro
I cannot enough tell you how much they helped me. Non yogis, do not look away. I’m quite devoted to health, to a spiritualistic and healthy lifestyle but I absolutely could not live a life on this earth without indulging in meat sauce, gluten insane spagetti and a bottle of red wine, so I’m not a freak. I have a playful approach, not a dead serious one. G cooked every dish in “The First forty Days” for me and I brought them with me to the hospital and I felt fkn amazing. He also made bone broth for me to drink during and post pregnancy, For the non-bone broth-religious, I know it sounds disgusting but it´s actually amazing.
CLOSEST TO YOUR HEART
When baby is born, don´t let go. Be skin to skin. The first 40 days are essential that you do nothing else, and the swaddles are endless on the market. Go for organic. There is one cool woman I follow on social media, Signe Siemsen, she is the godess when it comes to knowledge about this.. With Anaïs, I couldn´t do it since she was in the hospital, so when my little Gia Blue was born, I did it all the way and more. Carry them like we did in ancient times.
TWO ESSENTIAL THINGS TO EAT AND DRINK
:Warm Oatmeal with coconut oil, walnuts, chia, linseeds, blueberries, banana, pumpkinseeds:
Warming, nourishing, good fats, vitamins; to have a bowl of oatmeal is simply a perfect thing to indulge in everyday.
(recipes are endless online, it´s basically turmeric, almond milk, almonds, dates, cinnamon etc) (warm of course but mixed in a blender)
Ojas is the subtle essence of the seven vital tissues of the body. It is said to govern our immunity, energy, and vitality. When you have strong, healthy ojas in your system, you are able to fight against aging, degeneration, and disease. You will have sustainable energy, strong immunity, a healthy glow, and a robust libido. If you find yourself lacking in any of these categories, you may have depleted or imbalanced ojas in your system. It is great to drink first thing in the morning for breakfast to enhance stamina and vitality for the day ahead.
In Sweden I know that some pregnant women do not even take folic acid, but I had my first pregnancy in the worlds most health progressive City, (NYC) , so I followed them. These are the pills I took, and also post pregnancy, because you would not even understand how much we need them THEN! That’s another chapter… We loose our skin, hair and glow because the baby takes it from us, but nobody speaks about how well we need to nourish ourselves POST baby! A lot of talking about how to eat and drink during pregnancy, but you don’t hear a thing about how you should do the same after you give birth. BOOM! With the two above books, your post pregnancy will never be dull and you will not look or feel dull. Bonebroth and post pregnancy vitamins goes a LONG way.
We all know smoking and vino is a bad idea. We also know that we should get folic acid for the baby brain and sometimes extra iron for a healthy blood. That’s basic. Me personally would say that’s below basic. Because what we need to understand is that we’re in a state when pregnant. My mother said that and I love the expression.
“When you’re pregnant you’re in a state”.
Do you guys understand what I mean? If you don’t, it just means that you consistently without paus, need to oil the machine. You need to indulge in warming foods, warm drinks, dress only in comfortable and bright clothes, (yes bright, for the mood) be in bright light as miuch as possible, soak the sunlight you get, be around happy and calm people, buy lots of plants to your bedroom, take baths with essentials uplifting oils.. bla, bla bla do you get it? Your state should be goddess mode all the way. When you feel calm, comfortable and strong, you can do everything and nothing can kill your vibe.
This should have it´s own chapter, but when you have given birth, you will have a hollow and empty space in your body that will elevate your spaciousness and stress. What do you need to do to ground yoruself? You need to keep yourself warm and swaddled. Your womb is empty and your body needs be wrapped hard to keep you grounded and from getting anxiety. Please listen to these advices. No cold drinks, no cold foods, just NEVER get cold the first forty days after given birth to your baby! If you give birth in the winter, you don’t even have to go outside this first month. Swaddle yourself and your belly with a postpartym belt for the coming six weeks, or with a scarf. Whatever you find just wrap yourself tight to avoid heavy anxiety.Give yourself a warm oil massage
When we´re pregnant it´s all about us. When the baby comes, it´s all about the baby – but we have been born as mothers and we don’t get the slightest attention in comparison to when we were expecting, that we need and deserves from our surroundings. There should be more out there about how to take the best care ourselves when becoming a mom. Time to change this.
Why do we hide our true feelings? I think it´s because we feel ashamed that we´re not perfect.
I can speak freely about this now because I´m well now. I´m glad I can share this with you, because I know that when I felt like I did, you think you´re the only one in the world feeling unhappy. You´re not alone.
This post was crazy long, disorganized and with a lot of messy pics from everywhere and anywhere. But I hope it can give good to you who needs it.
lots of love
