stranger(s) in the alps

Living in the alps means skiing. In Summer it will mean hiking. When living in NYC skiing or hiking was not on the life curriculum but if you don’t make the best out of where you’re at you’re not smart. We live a 45 min drive from a mountain called Andermatt. We also live close to a few other places but Andermatt is our favorite. Its kind of not so commercialized as many other ski areas in Europe and its also freakin amazing skiing. Ive got a Swiss pal in my yoga teacher training and she is working in Andermatt during Summer and she says that not even in my wildest dreams I can imagine the lakes and the mountains then, how breathtakingly beautiful they are without snow.. I mean, I’m absorbed by the snowy beauty so it feels exciting. Did not know I had so much mountain love in me!

But just look. This is the drive to Andermatt. This is the road. I feel small and I feel in awe and I feel that the world is big and my problems are even smaller. I love to be in awe. How often have I been in awe. Not often but I feel obsessed with the feeling. This kind of nature is addictive.

Also the drive to Andermatt. This is in the Canton of Uri, just the name sounds very ancient and mountain-y and mystical.

tutti la famiglia <3
(+ my new foldable stroller for Gia by Thule named Thule Spring. Lightweight and awesome to travel with and moves over stones and terrain like a tiger)

Anaïs is pure happiness. She has learned to ski so fast. She doesn’t want to learn how to stop though, and she wanna jump. She is such a sagitarrious its almost ridic. My love.

View from our apartment in the morning. We stayed in Andermatt Hotel Reussen, just built two years ago with wood only from Switzerland. Freakin´expensive they told me but so sustainable and that’s awesome.

My fav brag picture. Powder and sun, Gustaf and me only. One of the best days. This was the day before I got the flu for the next coming 9 days, over my birthday and the rest of our vacay! Woop! But at least I got this day and I will remember it…

chasing down this one is our daily job right now. She’s going to be 2 soon and have started running instead of walking. This stage is fun, but prettyyy crazy! But she’s so funny so that helps. Her first words: Wooooow, yeah yeah, Pippi, baby, pappa. bye. She is FUN

These newly built apartments are so nice.. Just perfect for big families, everyone has a bedroom, a super kitchen and still get the perks of hotel breakky and the spa and pool amenities.
